Chef... or biologist?

I am not really sure about the money, but I really recommend becoming a Biologist. When you study to become a Chef, the chances are very slim to become one like Gordon Ramsey, or become the next Master Chef, or something like that. It is more likely that if you put all the money and hardwork in, you would end up working at an Olive Garden, or something like that. There are a ton of chefs out there, but because of the economy, people are not eating at fine restraunts as much, and the chefs who spent so much money are now working in the Kentucky Fried chicken, and places like that. In Biology, the end results are pretty much endless. You could be a Zooologist, a Marine Bioligist (this is what I want to be) a vetinarian, a vetinarian assistant, scientist, science teacher, or start your own petshop. If you are a chef though, you could only be a chef. Just my opinion though.

Serious Poop Problems?

I had black diarrhea and severe bloating two days ago and it was gritty looking and mostly liquid... like a LOT of liquid with black bits everywhere in it. I had bad acid reflux that day, as I have been diagnosed before with severe acid reflux and I get it a lot. Well, when I had this diarrhea I was feeling gurgling from my upper intestines and then it would shoot down immediately to my bum where I would have to desperately clinch to keep it inside. I pooped my pants twice in my sleep. It became a pasty black poop the next day which was yesterday, and today it is a pasty stool that is clay colored. All this time I have not had any fever whatsoever and I did not feel sick and didn't feel hot or anything... I felt normal as I still do. Well, except for starting my period today. I thought maybe the black poop was bleeding from my esophagus which would make sense with the severity of my acid reflux, but the liquid diarrhea part stumped me. Now that the poop is clay colored I am thinking that all the severe bloating that went on during the diarrhea may have... idk... obstructed the bile ducts...? So yeah I don't really have any clue now. Maybe it's the period? I have never EVER had black or clay colored poop problems before! I know the poop talk is really funny, as I have been joking about it with my mom and dad, but I need some advice before going to a doctor!

I have a family member that just found out they have an infection in their 5th hip replacement. She has had 5 replacements on the right and 4 on the left. It has been a life time battle and she has just found out that this 5th one is infected and has to be replaced. She has to use a different doctor every time because they all retire or move. The fitness part is important (P.T.) physical training helps you mentally and physically tobe a better soldier and be mission capable, and sports helps you stay fit and active. The Army will not just focus on soccer , there's plenty of army stuff to train on, marching (drill and ceremony) facing movements, army common task exp. 1st aid, map reading,survival skills ect. The attitude you have going into this will determine if it's a good or bad 3 weeks, stay positive this is a good choice for the future!

Repairing a cracked sheet of baked polymer clay?

I baked a polymer clay paw impression yesterday which developed a partial crack about an an inch and a half long. It goes all the way through the piece, which is maybe a half inch thick. No offense, but the reason you are cutting is pretty odd. Why would missing a coach make you depressed...and why would you cut over such a small thing??? I'm a cutter and lately have been realizing what a waste of time it is. I would say that I have a list of things to be depressed over, but honestly...one or 100...we shouldn't cut at all. DONT CUT because it's VERY addictive. Why put yourself through something that can last a lifetime...over something so small? You are going to meet TONS of people in your life and they are going to constantly be coming and going. It's rare when people stay friends for as long as some do. It's rare when you even ever see half the people you spent a great deal of time with. You need to mentally get over each sad thing in your life. I spent my whole life being depressed and wasted such a great 23 years. I'm moving on and doing what I want to do (career wise and even with things like my hair and contacts etc). You have 2 options with anything...you can let it get to you and you sit and mope around forever or you get over it and find positives and even move on asap! Good Luck. You should never cut...period. Go keep yourself busy and not think about the depressing crap. Find things to engulf you that are happy. Look at all the positives. I recently saw a good friend of mine after about 5 years. He was all amped up and acting very strange. He kept talking nonsense, vulgar and inappropriate things. I met him few time after that and found out what was going on with him and why he was acting all weird. His wife and he, high sweet hearts and madly in love are going through some tough time. His wife is having some immigration issues and has been in another country for about a year now. From very little information that he has given me, he is going through emotional distress. He tells me he is very happy in life. Nothing bothers him and gets very excited about nonsense things. I tried to get him into a serious talk but he keeps avoiding it. The only thing I ever got out his mouth that got me thinking was that “people think I’m fine but I’m not”. After this I keep asking him about his wife and the problems they are facing or at least to get him to talk about it. It seems that he is going through some metal distress. He seems to be in the state of euphoria. He also does not express himself. He probably has lot of things in mind, but does not talk to anyone about it. He has been keeping everything within himself. I tried talking to through meetings and phone but he does not cooperate. He gets annoyed and stops talking. He is acting very cold. He used to be an emotional, matured and respected person. It seems he is in an emotional shock and cannot get it out of himself. He does listen to me but it’s very hard to talk to him about anything and is very stubborn. I do not know what to do. I don't know what to major in college?

It's not that hard to get a high school teaching job. It's not really easy, but a lot easier than getting a job as a research scientist. You'd need a PhD in astrophysics or marine bio to really do anything in either of those fields, and many people finish the PhD and then can't get a job in the field because there are so few jobs. If you're not good at math or science, you aren't going to be a research scientist. High school English teacher was the most reasonable of those options.

I need advice please! I'm trying to lose weight by trying the Supreme 90 workout sold at Bed Bath and Beyond..?

Vet is not a major, and marine bio rarely is. Both require graduate degrees (DVM for a vet, that's 4 years of vet school after college) and PhD for marine bio (4-8 years of graduate school after the bachelors). Careers working with animals for an introvert?

biologists usually cut up animals instead of studying them alive. you might want to try something in ecology or zoology or even environmental studies, maybe try to get a job in a zoo not as a...guide but as a care taker of animals and then go from there or you can look into programs where you get to go out of the country and raise large animals. though with a phd in physics...i dont think biology will be your interest for long. just do something in physics, since hardly anyone can do physics you will likely end up working with a few people not a lot and keep a dog or cat or turtles as pets :)

Stuck in the middle of writing a movie script! Help?

Kince(17) and Austin(21) are brothers. They go to the beach one day, and a tiger shark tries to attack Kince and out of nowhere comes a huge orca whale that kills the shark. After getting back to the beach Kince sees what saved his life and heads back into the water and swims to the whale. A boat pulls up with a marine biologist and his daughter, Stephanie. The boys are invited on board, and are told about the whale. His name is Bocca and he was seperated from his family by a group of whalers. The rest of his family is headed toward Antarctica. The marine biologist says he will not take on a group of whalers. Kince, Austin and Stephanie plan to help him to get to his family. The very next morning they head out to sea to find Bocca. Along the way they meet a group of marine biologist studying dolphins who agree to help Bocca get home. When they have to take the boat in for fuel, Kince hears a old man saying, "a bunch of kids came in with a whale, we should follow them out of here and get it." He fights with the old man and pushes him into freezing cold water. The then head back out to sea and it starts to storm. The boat that Austin, Kince and Stephanie are on hits a rock and starts to sink, so they have to get their stuff to the other boat that the marine biologist are on....thats where I'm stuck.

Tough choice between books or Telescope?

It's not a question of EITHER a telescope OR books: you need BOTH. A telescope by itself is useless: you need at least an atlas or a guidebook to find anything interesting to look at. My personal recommendation is a good book (NightWatch by Terence Dickinson is my favourite) and a membership in an astronomy club. That way you will get to look through telescopes and talk to a lot of interesting people, much better than being alone with a telescope you don't know how to use.

Generally four years for a bachelors degree, another two for your masters, and another two on top of that for your doctorate. As for salary it depends on the career track you take. You could end up working on any thing from forest ecology with the national parks to astro-biology research at a university. With a degree in a in biology the world is your bivalved mulusk (oyster).

I really want to get a job in yellowstone. I would love to do something with wildlife or where i could at least see the wildlife. About 2 years ago my 2 older sisters decided to cut me and my other sister out of their lives. Since then my family has regarded it as a deep dark secret or a taboo subject. Even my mother refuses to talk about the situation even though it has really effected me and my sister negatively and I have developed depression and am seeing a counsellor because of it. I feel like I'm being ostracized from my family and I can't ever bring up the subject to defend my side of the argument.
