Macbook Pro... death of my logicboard :(?

Almost a year now I've been mourning the death of my late 2008 15" Macbook Pro, so much so that I can't bare collecting the cadaver it now is from stormfront, but i desperately want to revive it but Stormfront's charges for replacement of a logicboard, reconnecting the dislodged trackpad and repairing a crack to the glass of the screen comes to that of a small child (around a thousand pounds of so) but i have did some enquring an generated other estimate quotes around for around 500, but my question is.... is it all worth it? Do I pay this much money, half, for the my revived macbook only to fail again. i haven't the money for a new one and urgently require my macbook back......
