How can I get a career like Jeremy Wade?

I'm 16 and I am very much into the show River Monster. Fishing is my favorite thing to do and I'd love to traverse the world to do so. Now I notice Jeremy is a biologist. What kind of degree would I need and how would I go about pursuing the same career as him?
